Despite the iPhone 16’s release being just weeks away, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has provided insights into the iPhone 17, set for a 2025 release.
iPhone 17
Kuo predicts the iPhone 17 will be “ultra-thin” with a single wide camera lens on the back. The display is expected to be a substantial 6.6 inches with a resolution of 2,740 x 1,260, a notable upgrade from the current 6.1-inch standard iPhone.
This new model might replace the iPhone Plus, which has a 6.7-inch display but only accounts for 5-10% of new iPhone shipments. Instead of competing on hardware specifications, the iPhone 17 will focus on innovative design.
Kuo also mentions that the iPhone 17 will feature Apple’s 5G chip, marking a significant milestone in Apple’s development of its own 5G technology. It will be powered by the A19 processor, with the A19 Pro chip reserved for the Pro and Pro Max models. Additionally, the frame will be a new titanium-aluminum alloy with a lower percentage of titanium than current Pro and Pro Max models.
With the expected release in September 2025, there is still ample time for changes to occur, and Kuo has a history of revising his predictions as release dates approach.
