Kazakhstan Earthquake Updates: Multiple Tremors Near Almaty

Three earthquakes struck near Kazakhstan’s Almaty region, originating in China and Tajikistan. No tremors were felt within Kazakhstan.

A series of earthquakes occurred near Kazakhstan’s Almaty region on Thursday, originating in neighboring countries but causing no impact within Kazakhstan.

The first quake, with its epicenter located in China, 265 kilometers south of Almaty, struck at 10:45:43 am Astana time. Its coordinates were identified as 40.906° north latitude and 77.759° east longitude.

Later in the day, a second earthquake was recorded at 01:32:57 pm.

This tremor originated in Tajikistan, with its epicenter 620 kilometers southwest of Almaty. The location was pinpointed at 39.319° north latitude and 71.598° east longitude.

The third quake struck again in China at 03:06:53 pm, this time 319 kilometers southeast of Almaty. The coordinates of this epicenter were 42.060° north latitude and 80.481° east longitude.

Despite their proximity, none of these tremors were felt in Kazakhstan, ensuring there was no reported damage or casualties in the region.

Kazakhstan’s seismic monitoring authorities continue to observe and assess regional tectonic activity to ensure timely updates and safety measures.
