Uzbekistan and China have finalized a groundbreaking visa-free agreement, significantly easing travel between the two nations. The agreement was formalized during the visit of Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov to China, marking a milestone in bilateral relations.
Under the terms of the treaty, citizens from both countries can travel visa-free for up to 30 days. This development is expected to enhance tourism, business ties, and cultural exchange between the two nations.
The agreement will take effect after both countries complete the necessary internal procedures.
The surge in Chinese visitors to Uzbekistan highlights the potential impact of this agreement. Between January and October 2024, 57,700 Chinese citizens visited Uzbekistan—a remarkable 63.1% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
This visa-free policy underscores the strengthening ties
between Uzbekistan and China, paving the way for a closer partnership and increased connectivity.
