In the first half of 2024, Uzbekistan cut natural gas production by 1.2 billion cubic meters, according to Azernews. Production totaled 22.3 billion cubic meters from January to June, down from 23.5 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2023.

Uzbekneftegaz JSC reported that 43 wells were drilled in the first six months of the year. Notably, the industry is conducting its first deep drilling at depths of 5,500 to 6,500 meters in the Nizhny Surgil, Sarizhol, and Western Nizhny Surgil fields to explore gas prospects in the deep Jurassic deposits of Ustyurt.

Additionally, four gas pretreatment units have been constructed and are operational, and 56.4 kilometers of new gas pipeline have been installed to ensure stable gas transportation.

During January-June, the country processed 846.7 thousand tons of hydrocarbon raw materials, producing approximately 526 thousand tons of gasoline and 307.6 thousand tons of diesel fuel. Liquefied natural gas production reached over 333 thousand tons, exceeding projections by 9.7 percent.
