The much-anticipated trailer for Jason Reitman’s film on Saturday Night Live, previously known as SNL 1975, was unveiled on Thursday, offering fans a sneak peek into the dramatized recounting of SNL’s inaugural episode.

The trailer features Gabriel LaBelle portraying Lorne Michaels, the iconic comedy producer, who is depicted navigating through intense challenges and creative chaos. LaBelle captures Michaels’ relentless determination with the line, “It doesn’t matter that we’re ready, it matters that it’s 11:30. That’s when we go on,” echoing one of Michaels’ famous real-life sayings.
The film also showcases Cory Michael Smith as Chevy Chase, who questions the legitimacy of the show’s ensemble nature, while Matt Wood’s John Belushi displays a dramatic outburst. Succession’s Nicholas Braun takes on the role of Jim Henson, humorously reflecting on an incident where Big Bird was allegedly hung up in his dressing room.
