Kazakhstan Cuts Auto Production by 14.6% in Early 2024

ASTANA, July 24 (Interfax) – In the first half of 2024, Kazakhstan’s automobile production declined by 14.6% compared to the same period last year, with a total of 62,435 vehicles produced, according to a statement from the Association of Kazakhstan’s Automotive Business (AKAB).

The production value for this period was 814.4 billion tenge.

During this time, 38,691 vehicles were assembled in Kostanay by Allur, marking a 12.5% decrease from the previous year. In Almaty, Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan and Hyundai Trans Auto produced 19,330 light-duty and commercial vehicles, a 22.4% drop. SemAZ and Daewoo Bus Kazakhstan in Semey manufactured 2,528 commercial vehicles, an increase of 17%. QazTehna in the Karaganda region produced 644 vehicles, up by 45%, while KAMAZ-Engineering in Kokshetau manufactured 415 commercial vehicles, a decrease of 24.8%.

The models produced included 10,534 units of the Chevrolet Cobalt, 10,235 units of the Hyundai Tucson, 5,769 units of the Kia Sportage, 3,192 units of the Jac J7, and 2,940 units of the Jetour X70.
